There will be bicycle stunts teams, novelty bicycles that make smoothies, performance art on bicycles and general craziness and all of this happening in a big public location such as Covent Garden or the South Bank. We have a budget of £5000 to run this event which will take place in the beginning of September

Why it was needed

There will be bicycle stunts teams, novelty bicycles that make smoothies, performance art on bicycles and general craziness and all of this happening in a big public location such as Covent Garden or the South Bank. We have a budget of £5000 to run this event which will take place in the beginning of September

What's being done

We need a core team of young people (16-25) help to coordiante this event-

Although this event is London based and will take place at the end of September wherever you are in the country you can take part from the comfort of your own home!

There are 3 ways you can get involved:



1.You could take on a task at home for example researching cycling groups in London

2.You could take on a task by visiting potential locations to hold the event

3.If you would like to get more involved you can come to work for a couple of days in the TimeBank offices in London Bridge helping to put together the event. This would be great experience for anyone who wants to get involved in event and project management. We also cover all your expenses such as food and travel and also accommodation if you don’t live in London!

How it started

We had a successful ideas generation meeting last week and you guys came up with some great ideas to tackle the issue of free cycling around London. In other European countries the big cities provide free bikes for the public to use around the city encouraging both a healthy lifestyle and lower fuel emission; and you guys decided you would like to campaign for this using some wacky ideas in the event!
